From April 28 to May 1, 2025, the University of Limerick’s Department of Physical Education and Sport Sciences (PESS) graciously hosted the concluding transnational meeting of the PhysEd Academy project. This gathering marked the culmination of our three-year journey, bringing together researchers, teacher educators, and practitioners from across Europe to reflect on our collective achievements and chart the path forward.
The meeting was not only a celebration of our sustained partnership but also a pivotal moment to consolidate our efforts and strategize for the future. Central to our mission has been the promotion of equitable outcomes in physical education through support for both initial teacher education (ITE) and continuous professional development (CPD). This ethos was evident throughout the sessions in Limerick, which emphasized collaborative international dialogue, critical reflection, and the dissemination of high-quality, open-access resources.
While the formal funding cycle of the project concludes, our commitment to sustaining the momentum remains unwavering. Plans are underway for continued scholarly collaborations, active dissemination of our resources, and integration of our mini-teaching packs into local and national CPD platforms. We also look forward to a series of collective publications that will extend the reach and impact of our work.
